Celebrate Black-Owned Restaurants This Saturday With A Free Brunch at Kitchen + Kocktails

Return to all

This weekend, grab a free brunch at the beloved Kitchen + Kocktails in River North.

They are serving up premium comfort food for free (while supplies last) as part of Pepsi’s Dig In Day, which celebrates Black-owned restaurants.

As for Kitchen + Kocktails, the restaurant is a concept brought to life by attorney Kevin Kelley. With another location in Dallas, the the menu is filled to the brim with delectable choices like lobster tails, shrimp and grits, waffles, Cajun Crab Cakes, and other Southern classics. The free brunch is being served on a first-come, first-served basis with the restaurant opening from 10 AM to 12 AM.

The ‘dig in’ day is a recent collaboration with Top Chef judge Chef Carla Hall, bringing food lovers out in droves to support Black-owned restaurants. The event is only in its 2nd year and we can’t wait to see how it grows with time.

As part of the larger picture, the Pepsi sponsored event is also an opportunity to win $5,000– and unlock a $5,000 donation for your favorite Black-owned restaurant. All you have to do is post a picture of your meal, tag the restaurant, and @PepsiDigIn #DigInShowLove #Sweepstakes by Sunday for a chance to win.

There are incredible Black-owned restaurants located around the city. While Kitchen + Kocktails is the only restaurant participating in the Pepsi event, restaurants like like Ina Mae Tavern(1415 N Wood St, Chicago, IL 60622), Daisy’s Po’ Boy and Tavern (5215 S Harper Ave, Chicago, IL 60615), Batter & Berries(2748 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614), Cleo’s Southern Cuisine (4248 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60653), Brunch N Burgers (2255 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60612), Kizin Creole Restaurant(2311 W Howard St, Chicago, IL 60645) and so many others are so worth checking out and supporting.
